Dr John Demartini belives our fears rest on four pillars: Fear of losing, fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of not knowing enough. I would include in the latter fear of not 'having enough resources'. Right now our anxiety levels are rising as we are influenced by the national news that feed our fears about 'lack'. So what is your personal response to this? Whether you feel uneasy depends on your belief scripts about life.

Are you a 'glass half empty' or a 'glass half full' person. If you are the former then you can feel more anxiety because of a tendency to look for the negatives. However for some of you, fear of loss or failure may propel you into positive action, but what if it doesn't, what do you need to do?

Change your beliefs and transform fear into courage.

Most anxieties are learnt behavoirs and ways of thinking. Put simply- it occurs when we imagine a feared future event or situation. To reduce these feelings we need to get a balanced perspective. When you transform your fear into positive action the benefits to you are increased vitality and confidence, feeling more in control and relaxed.  So below, try my ten top tips for relief from anxiety:

  • Face your fears with support
  • Identify specific limiting beliefs, and then put them in perspective, let them go
  • Emmerse yourself in the 'present moment' with activities that give you pleasure,
  • Learn relaxation techniques such as meditation, EFT, or walking in the park
  • Talk about your anxieties with a professional
  • Listen to self help c.d's like “Inner talk” to eliminate negative self talk
  • Drink plenty of water and herbal teas like cammomile or use aromatherapy oils in the bath on your body or as a room diffuser,
  • Recognise where you feel these emotions in your body, treat youself to a massage
  • Breathe deeply into your tummy for 3 seconds, hold, then out for 3, releasing any related feelings or thoughts into a imagined ballon, then let it go into the sky!
